ESIC Medical College & Hospital Basaidarapur New Delhi

ESIC Medical College & Hospital Basaidarapur New Delhi (erstwhile Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences and research and ESI Model hospital at Basaidarapur) is a tertiary care institution located in New Delhi. The institution has been running as a model hospital under ESIC (Ministry of Labour & Employment) since 1971. It is one of the largest multispecialty hospitals of ESIC providing quality medical care to insured persons, staffs and their families. The institute has been running post graduate courses in 11 departments including 01 super specialty department since 2010. The institute has been accorded a letter of permission by NMC for admitting first batch of 50 MBBS students in 2025.

The institute offers a wide range of services in various clinical specialties like General medicine , General & Minimally Invasive Surgery, Pediatrics , Obstetrics & Gynecology with IVF Centre, Orthopedics and Spinal Surgery, Pediatrics, Pulmonary Medicine, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry, Community medicine, Ayush and Day care Oncology. Para-clinical departments like Pathology, Hematology, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Forensic medicine have been established. Pre-clinical departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry are also in place. The institution is affiliated to GGSIP University, New Delhi and presently has Postgraduate MD/MS courses in General Medicine, Microbiology, Pathology, Anesthesia, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology and Pediatrics and DM in Department of Pulmonary. All the departments are actively involved in research activities and publication. The institute has a fully functional medical education unit which regularly conducts developmental programs. The institute offers an excellent opportunity for applied research while imparting medical education which helps the students to develop research temperament and blossom as torch bearer in medical profession.

ESIC Medical College & Hospital Basaidarapur New Delhi is a 600 Bedded hospital with approved plan to expand to 1000 bed with facility of SICU, ICCU, RICU and PICU. A fresh Proposal of increasing the number of ICU beds to 100 is under the process. Under the guidance of ESI Head Quarter, institution is striving to achieve the objective of standard of care from reasonable health care. A separate OT Complex with 13 operation theatres is fully functional to cater the need of surgical disciplines. Approximately, 7 lakh patients attend Out-patient department and 35 thousand patients getting admitted annually.

The institute offers facilities for all round growth of medical students including facilities for recreational & personality development activities like fully functional AC library, recreation activities, yoga and canteen services. It is a clean and green ragging free campus. The institute conducts sports and cultural activities yearly. Since it is located in the heart of Delhi, it is well connected with all the places in New Delhi. Overall, the campus provides a balanced atmosphere which nurtures an academic excellence and personal growth.
